If you keep an eye on Kenyan news, then the name Cyprian Nyakundi must be familiar to you. All of his defamatory posts and scandals around him have gained quite some attention over the last few years. But who is he exactly? Who is this person that so many people love to hate? Continue reading, and you will find out!

The purpose of this article is to relay facts. We will not be going over every single thing Cyprian has managed to do, or mention every person he has managed to piss off in the course of his blogging career, as that would take ages. If you are interested in that sort of thing, you can find out more about Cyprian Nyakundi, including his various endeavors and scandals. Now, let’s get to the good part — the life story of Cyprian Nyakundi.

Cyprian Nyakundi biography

To be fair, there is no official biography of Cyprian Nyakundi out there. The little ‘About’ section on his Facebook and/or website only says that he is a Kenyan blogger and a ‘registered noisemaker’ who is interested in corporate fraud, politics, governance and human interest stories. That does not tell us much, does it?

A lot of people think he is a mystery, but they probably have not looked far enough. All you have to do is use Google for longer than five minutes, and you would be able to find his LinkedIn profile and Facebook page, where he has shared some info about himself. Now, whether or not he is telling the truth is a completely different question, so let’s just assume that he is.

His Facebook states that he is from Keroka, Nyanza, but currently lives in Nairobi. Nyakundi was born on June 22, 1991.

According to his LinkedIn profile, he was schooled at St. Mary’s School in Yala, a school for boys in Western Kenya. Cyprian stated that he attended it in 2006-2009, graduating with the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education.

Nyakundi then went on to study Actuarial Science at Meru University of Science and Technology. In 2012, he was suspended for a year and then expelled from the university in 2014 for tarnishing its image online. We will not go too much into detail about it, as you have probably heard about it already. After all, this expulsion is what made him famous.

That said, Cyprian lists Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology as his alma mater. His profile contains somewhat muddled information on this account, as he has listed this three times, each time with different dates. One of the listings signifies that he has been a student of JKUAT from 2010, which is most likely not true, so who knows?

Cyprian also taught mathematics at St. Joseph’s Academy Nyasore  in Nyanza Province, Western Kenya in 2010-2011.

His current occupation is listed as CEO of Onward Africa (since 2016). The description of the company states that it provides services in the realm of digital media, crisis communication and new media consultancy. The company’s website is currently unavailable, but it has a somewhat active Twitter page @OnwardAfrica, if you want to check that out.

Of course, he still runs his blog, which brings him more fame (or rather infamy) every day. Nyakundi is still a loud proponent of the ‘Save the boy-child’ movement, and he still ‘exposes’ slay queens and other people. However, it is interesting to note that, according to his Facebook, he was previously engaged in 2015, and is currently in a relationship. Maybe it was his broken heart that made him write all those things about women.

These days, it seems like Cyprian cannot find peace. Here and there, you can see his face in the news, as he is being accused of something new. However, it looks like 9 out of 10 times it is because of his loud blog posts or past actions.
