WAVINYA INVOLVED IN FORGERY OF LEGAL DOCUMENTS
The Machakos wiper party gubernatorial candidate in the last elections, Wavinya Ndeti, (Pictured above), may in the next few months find herself in jail for a long time after she was mentioned to be the architect behind forgery of a fake legal document – an affidavit submitted to the county assembly.
The story that has been widely reported by local dailies including nation media (Wavinya accused of forgery) has caught the attention of many.
According to court documents, Ms Ndeti is alleged to have instructed an employee of Makueni county, Meshack Musyoki to engage a lawyer to prepare a falsified affidavit against Machakos ministerial nominees (CEC’s).
The person who swore the affidavit, Charles Kyalo Mutiso, a known campaigner of Ms Ndeti signed an affidavit with a forged signature and stamp of one lawyer, G.N. Thiong’o. The other accused is the lawyer prepared the false allegations Alfred Muia Mulwa.
Mutiso has indicated he was following Ms. Ndeti’s instructions and did not even know the people he was accusing.
Wavinya was on Saturday grilled by Police in Machakos and has recorded a statement. Two of her people involved in the scam have already been charged before a Machakos court with forging an affidavit that was used by the county assembly to vet Governor Alfred Mutua’s CEC nominees.
The nominees were subsequently rejected by the assembly based on the allegations drafted in the forged document and fake allegations.
According to court records, Charles Mutiso says he never prepared the affidavit and was just instructed to sign.
The court case 507/2017 was heard in Machakos on November 14 and comes up for mention on November 28, 2017.
Wavinya may face serious charges of conspiracy to defeat justice, forgery and making a document without authority – charges that can carry over 10 years in prison.
Meshack Musyoki claims that he was just an errand boy for Ms. Ndeti and was instructed to find a lawyer to file the affidavits at the Machakos county assembly.
